Dr. Ian Yamane grew up in a small community in San Diego County. At home, his mother battled illness for over 20 years. He witnessed a high spirited woman who was held back by a sick body and was relegated to her bed. She had no vitality and was always sick. He watched his father pick up the slack in the household to care for his sick wife while working full time and raising a family. It was painful for Dr. Yamane to experience his parents return each time from a doctor's visit as he had high hopes that the large bag of pills would somehow cure her. At times there were some glimpses of hope that she was cured, yet gradually over time she would end up right back in bed. Unfortunately, after visiting with many of the top healthcare specialists she passed away at a premature age. From that moment on, Dr. Yamane had a burning desire to start his journey in finding a way to help people with chronic and difficult to treat conditions. His desire for all families to enjoy optimal health drives his research and development of patient care so that no individual within families will have to suffer the same life-long debilitating heath that held back his family from the joy they could have had.
In 1993 Dr. Yamane graduated with honors and finally realized his dream of becoming a Doctor. He moved to Las Vegas, Nevada where he would fulfill his dream of creating his own practice. For the next 25 years his practice has blossomed into multiple clinics spread throughout the Las Vegas valley. He currently consults with new patients as the Director of Admissions at his Las Vegas and Henderson locations.
Dr. Yamane believes in a multidisciplinary approach to solving complex conditions. His clinics offer a variety of services to patients, so they can have the best chance of regaining and maintaining optimal health. Dr. Yamane currently practices in the Functional Medicine space where he addresses the underlying cause(s) of a patient?s problems. He utilizes many forms of diagnostic testing to uncover the root cause of his patient?s problems and he always takes a comprehensive and customized approach with each patient. He is most passionate about treating patients who suffer from cognitive decline and early stage Alzheimer?s dementia. Cognition improves and patient?s lives transform when they work with Dr. Yamane and his team of providers where otherwise no conventional cure for dementia exists.
Dr. Yamane has always been an innovator. He is continually passionate about learning the latest scientific breakthroughs in health and utilizing and sharing those principles with his patients. His thirst for knowledge, integrity, and character have been key pillars to his success. He is author of two books: ?Time Is Tissue: A Whole System Approach To Reversing Cognitive Decline? and ?The Diabetes Solution: Addressing The Root Cause?. These books help people gain a deeper understanding of what causes their disease process in regards to early stage dementia and Alzheimer?s disease and type 2 diabetes respectively.
Dr. Yamane obtained certifications from Bridgeport University in the following areas: Functional Blood Chemistry Analysis, Mastering Functional Blood Chemistry, Mastering the Thyroid, Mastering Brain Chemistry, and Functional Endocrinology. He has obtained training from the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM) in the Cardiometabolic, Hormone, Energy, Gastrointestinal, Detoxification, and Immune Advanced Practice Modules. He also obtained certifications through Southern California University of Health Sciences and the National University of Health Sciences. He received over 300 hours of training from Functional Medicine University and received a certification as a Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner (CFMP). This qualifies him to be Diplomate-eligible in nutrition through the American Clinical Board of Nutrition (ACBN). He has obtained advanced training in Reversing Cognitive Decline: Advanced Clinical Training in MCI and Alzheimer?s disease in collaboration with Dr. Dale Bredesen and AHNP Precision Health. Dr. Yamane is a qualified ReCODE practitioner to treat patients under Dr. Bredesen?s ReCODE program. Once he completed his post graduate training he submitted the required clinical guild based case study and has taken and passed the certification examination to qualify him to be a certified practitioner in functional medicine. Thus, the title designation of ?IFMCP?.
Dr. Yamane is married to his best friend, Deborah. They have 4 children and 2 grandchildren and love spending time together as a family. He is very involved in serving his church and community. The pursuit of optimal health has led his passion for creating a better life for his family and has led to many wonderful breakthroughs for his wellness practice.
