Dr Temkin has been my primary for 3 years I believe. I came in to the doctors office and let him know I really wasn't feeling good. It was hard to tell what was going on. I was fatigued and all around just didn't want to get out of bed. We ran a bunch of blood tests and he said they would reach out when the results were back. Never got that call. I called in to make an appointment and unfortunately had to cancel the first one due to work. We never looked at those test results again. He never mentioned them, and I honestly forgot. Fast forward a few months and I go to urgent care a few months later. They tell me it's laryngitis after a covid test and strep test come back negative. I've developed a cough that won't go away and I'm still losing my voice. Around the first or so of January I reach back out to schedule another visit. I have extreme pain in what feels like my back and ribcage. I come in and let him know all my symptoms. He listens to my heart and lungs, I tell him I think it might be pneumonia. He gives me an antibiotic and ibuprofen. I leave and start taking those as prescribed. He says he doesn't hear anything, but maybe something is brewing in there. A few weeks later I come back in around the 18th or so. I'm now coughing constantly, I'm wheezing, I still have pain in my back and ribcage. He says my lungs sound OK and there isn't much of a wheeze. He gives me an inhaler and we talked about how I vape and used to smoke for most of my younger years. I leave hoping for the best. A few days later on the 25th of January I am now almost unable to breath and I'm not able to get a sentence out without having to pause to take a breath. Symptoms unchanged. I go to urgent care, since what my doctor is doing hasn't helped so far, and I wanted a second opinion. He listen to my lungs for like 4 seconds and immediately sends me for an x ray and CT scan. I need to drive to walnut creek for the CT scan. No problem I say, but then he tells me something strange. "Go right now, and if you can't drive yourself, I'll call an ambulance for you". Weird. Never heard that before. I'll drive myself. I had a CT scan and x ray results come back. I have 3 liters of fluid in my left lung, where I have been experiencing the pain and discomfort. So much fluid it is pushing my organs around, and my larynx. How odd I say. I've been to my doctor and urgent care like 6 times in the past year. Nobody has said anything. The nurses and doctors say, " I don't know how he missed this. There is almost no movement in your left lung." I was in the hospital for almost 2 weeks. They thought I had cancer, but apparently I had valley fever (airborne fungal infection) that had been misdiagnosed for an unknown amount of time. I almost died in January after a long battle with this infection. They didn't think I would have lived if it went on much longer. It sounded like rice crispies when I would breath. Luckily the other doctors caught it before it was too late and the fluid suffocated me completely. This is one instance he messed up, but it almost cost me my life. That, and his miserable staff are why I will not come back and see this doctor again. His staff is really good at smiling at your face and making snarky comments too. They literally are rude without needing to be. I've been to many doctors offices, and his staff makes me want to go to urgent care, rather than schedule an appointment with my doctor. I've NEVER had a physical from this doctor. Only come in when I have problems, and they do not reach when your test results come back. You have to call them. Maybe that's how it works, but not in the past for me. My other doctors have always reached out with test results to schedule a follow up. If you need any type of disability paperwork for work, they do not do online forms. You have to manually do government paperwork and then bring it in for them to fill out. Good luck Doc. No hard feelings, and that's why I gave you 2 stars instead of 1. But do not contact me ever again, and I will not change my review other than to lower it

Dr temkin is an awesome doctor. His front office staff on the other hand is the reason i found another PCP. Jeni is by far the rudest person and has zero empathy and lacks bedside manners. If you choose to go here make your appointments online and avoid the garbage upfront

In my experience, Dr. Temkin employs a "one-size-fits-all" approach to hormone replacement therapy (HRT) pellets for women, disregarding individual needs and goals when determining hormone dosages. I visited Dr. Temkin's office for 1.5 years, repeatedly expressing my concerns about the unpleasant side effects of excessive hormone levels and the excessive supplemental pills prescribed (weight gain, severe hair loss, lack of energy). Despite his assurances to lower the hormone levels, he never did. Upon seeking care from a new provider, it was discovered that I only required fewer pills and a balanced pellet dosage. Within a few weeks, I achieved the desired results and lost the excess weight rapidly without the need for additional pills or dietary restrictions. Dr. Temkin's treatment plan, including prescription medications and mandatory (mostly optional elsewhere) supplements, reaches the high $3,000s per year. As others have noted, the office staff is exceptionally rude. When I contacted the office to discuss transferring to a different doctor, the assistant displayed a complete lack of empathy, failing to say "I'm sorry to hear that. What happened?" Instead, she simply stated, "Okay, I'll inform Dr. Temkin" and abruptly ended the call. HRT remains a viable option, provided your doctor acknowledges the individual on the receiving end of the treatment.

I have been seeing Dr Temkin since he initially opened office. He is very affable, an excellent communicator and current with all medical technology. His staff is is a reflection of his attitudes making me feel good about seeing him. I have recommended him to several other friends of mine whom are now his patients. I cannot say enough about him and his organization as they are all first rate!

I've been seeing Dr. Temkin for about 10 years and absolutely love having him as our family doctor. He is one of the few doctors it seems that takes time to listen to his patients and partner with them on treatment options. I never feel like I'm in a rush and he doesn't pile on appointments so closely that I end up waiting a long time in his waiting room or the exam room. If you want a doctor that listens and cares for his patients, look no further than Dr. Temkin.
